Residency Program

Nasson Health Care is committed to providing outstanding patient care, fostering staff growth and development, and enhancing community health via educational initiatives. Our residency program caters specifically to emerging nurse practitioners who are dedicated to forging their careers within the demanding environments of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) or with special populations.

Objectives:

Nasson Health Care Nurse Practitioner Residency Program is designed with three core objectives:

  • Focus on readying Nurse Practitioners to take on comprehensive care responsibilities for complex and underserved groups. This spans all life stages and various healthcare settings, particularly addressing the unique needs of homeless populations and public housing residents.
  • The program builds upon the foundational educational background and clinical experiences that are part of becoming a Certified Nurse Practitioner. It aims to cultivate greater clinical confidence and operational competence essential for high-quality practice within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.
  • The Program strives to increase the retention of Nurse Practitioners in FQHCs by encouraging long-term career commitments in these centers. Additionally, it seeks to develop their leadership skills pertinent to advancing within FQHCs as well as playing influential roles in shaping future healthcare systems.
