Preventative Care
Preventative care is an essential part of maintaining your overall health and well-being. Not only are prevention services more cost-effective in the long run, but oftentimes they can save the life of a patient and those we care about most.
We encourage patients to take charge of their health by scheduling preventative screenings and keeping check-up appointments with their primary care providers. We focus on prevention and treatment of the whole person and offer multiple tests, vaccinations and immunizations for patients of all ages. Examples include:
- Immunizations and vaccinations
- Yearly physical exams
- Mammograms (referred)
- Pap Smears (referred)
- Laboratory tests
- Colorectal cancer screenings (referred)
- Early detection and education
Immunizations and Vaccinations
An essential part any preventative care effort is making sure you and your family are up to date with any available immunizations and vaccinations. Many of these services are also available to anyone who lives in our community and you do not need to be a patient at Nasson Health Care to participate.
To make an appointment for any of these services, call the front desk at (207) 490-6900—to make an appointment and learn about upcoming clinics. You can also call if you have questions about available immunizations and vaccines.
Flu Vaccination
Have you gotten your flu shot for this year? The flu shot is recommended for everyone over the age of six months – anytime during the winter. Even if you’re at a low risk of having serious complications from the flu, the vaccine can protect you from a really unpleasant illness, or make your symptoms milder. It also protects more vulnerable people around you from contracting the disease from you.
The flu vaccine is currently available free for our patients. You can make an appointment any day of the week, and it only takes about 5 minutes.
COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster
Although many of us would like to forget about COVID-19, it hasn’t disappeared. In fact, it’s still making people very sick. Like any virus, it will mutate and more contagious variants will appear – making it crucial to stay protected by being fully vaccinated and up-to-date with the latest booster. The most recent booster is designed to protect against the latest strains and offers greater protection against new variants.
COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are available for anyone 6 months or older and can be scheduled at the following local pharmacies:
